Jay Wintrob  

Jay Wintrob served as Chief Executive Officer (from November 2014 to March 2024) and a member of the Board of Directors (from September 2011 to March 2014) of Oaktree Capital Management, L.P., a leader among global investment managers specializing in alternative investments. He currently serves as an Oaktree Advisory Partner.

Before joining Oaktree, Mr. Wintrob was President and Chief Executive Officer of AIG Life and Retirement, the U.S.-based life and retirement services segment of American International Group, Inc., from 2009 to 2014. Following AIG's acquisition of SunAmerica in 1998, Mr. Wintrob was Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer of AIG Retirement Services, Inc. from 1998 to 2001, and President and Chief Executive Officer from 2001 to 2009. Mr. Wintrob began his career in financial services in 1987 as Assistant to the Chairman of SunAmerica Inc. and then went on to serve in several other executive positions, including President of SunAmerica Investments, Inc., overseeing the company's invested asset portfolio.

Mr. Wintrob received his B.A. and J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. Following law school, he joined the law firm of O'Melveny & Myers, where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions, securities underwriting, and general business law. Mr. Wintrob is a board member of several non-profit organizations, including The Broad Foundations, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, the Doheny Eye Institute, The Los Angeles Music Center and the Skirball Cultural Center.
